Connect 4

Best for kids aged 5+

Activity Time: 5 – 10 minutes 

The Game: This 2-player game challenges you to be the first to connect four of your own discs of the same color next to each other vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

Learning Outcome: Kids learn about strategic problem solving, basic math, and pattern detection.

Classic Checkers and Classic Chess

Best for kids aged 5+

Activity Time: 10+ minutes 

The Game: Chess is a board game of strategic skill for two players, played on a chequered board on which each playing piece is moved in order to ultimately capture the opponent’s king.  Checkers is a 2-player game where the goal is to eliminate all the opponent’s pieces or to trap the opponent so they can’t move. 

Learning Outcomes: These games increase visual memory, attention span, and spatial-reasoning ability. They also foster logic, critical thinking, and creativity.

Episode Length: 5 minutes 

The Show: ExpeRimental brings fascinating science experiments into your own home using easy-to-get materials. You and your kids can make fizzy bottle rockets, colour-changing cabbage juice, homemade parachutes, balloon car racers, lava lamps, rubber band cannons, and even “poo” you can eat!

Learning Outcome: This show will spark kids’ interest in chemistry and physics. It also gives kids the confidence to explore, question and test some of the fundamentals of science!
