Urban Tails Breakdances Its Way Onto Azoomee

LONDON, UK, Jan. 16th, 2020 / Azoomee, the safe, curated fun learning platform for kids aged 4+, has today signed a deal to bring the ultimate hip-hop music show to its catalogue with Urban Tails, a 26-episode first series produced by Monster Entertainment in Ireland.

Azoomee selected Urban Tails because it offers a fresh approach to learning about wildlife via energetic, funky hip-hop music. Kids get a unique insight into facts about animals and nature, while jamming to the beats. Azoomee places an emphasis on making learning fun, and these short, catchy episodes fit perfectly with the company ethos.

“This show taps into nostalgia for parents, which makes co-viewing with kids a real treat,” said Luca Fiore, Head of Content at Azoomee. “The educational benefits are woven seamlessly into the songs, with character-driven humour that appeals to everyone. Kids will be hooked on the tunes, which leads to learning that feels like playtime.”

Each 2-minute episode is inspired by classic hip-hop and R&B music videos, and features a characterised animal decked out in 90’s street fashion. Through singing and rap, the animals relay facts about their habitats and behaviours. Catchy riffs and memorable rhymes will have kids bopping along to the beat, while parents will enjoy the throwback influence. It’s a great way to encourage co-viewing for the whole family, with a show that’s as entertaining as it is educational.

Urban Tails was created by award-winning Pink Kong Studios in Dublin, Ireland. The musical show is the company’s first original preschool series, and was developed from a pilot project made for the RTÉ short scheme in 2016. With characters like “Mista C-Lion”, “Sharky B” and “Flava Frog,” as well as animation that captures street dance culture, the hip-hop inspiration is delightfully clear.

“We’ve never had so much fun doing a series!” said Aoífe Doyle, Director & Writer at Pink Kong Studios. “It’s been a dream project, mixing our love for 90’s music and animation in one fun colourful package. Everyone involved poured a lot of love into the project, and we can’t wait for the little ones and their parents to tune in and enjoy this awesome show.”

“Urban tales has a really fresh approach,” said Andrew Fitzpatrick, the owner of Monster Entertainment. “It’s a fun series of animated hip-hop music videos introducing urban animals, something we can’t help singing along to.”

Urban Tails joins thousands of TV episodes, videos and tutorials on Azoomee, along with more than 300 games and interactive activities.
